Preparation for the Season

  • Ensure you have a valid Working With Children's Check (WWCC) ...details

Preparation for Match Days

  • Roster for all parent roles ...details

    • Team sheets - print 3 copies ...details

    • Timekeeper and Goal Umpire Scorecards (for U11+ teams) - pre-filled ...details

    • Best & Fairest voting envelopes (for U11+ teams) ...details

    • Ensure you have all relevant awards (Coach's medals + sponsorship award) ...details

Match Days

  • Setup and inspect ground if you are the first game of the day at a home venue ...details

  • Get players to sign team sheet ...details

  • Ensure all team and match official roles are filled by parent helpers and Best & Fairest envelopes are distributed (U11 +)

  • Introduce yourself to Umpires and opposition Team Manager

  • Support your coach

  • During the game:At half time, provide signed team sheet to Umpire and exchange a 2nd copy (unsigned) with opposition Team Manager

    • Monitor behaviour of your parent group, match & team officials and act if required

    • Keep a record of goal scorers (or ask a parent to do this)

    • Ensure your Team officials adhere to league By-Laws e.g. People in Team Bench area

  • At the conclusion of the game liaise with Umpire(s), opposition Team Manager, collect all paperwork, ensure you have all equipment back i.e. Team Manager kit is complete

  • Pack up the ground if you are the last game of the day at a home venue

Post Game

  • Enter results and update team sheet in Sports TG by 8pm Sunday (game day) ...details

  • Submit match day paperwork to club via pigeon holes ...details

  • Ensure the Aftermatch Run Sheet is filled out for your team ...details

  • Notify club (President/Secretary/Incident Officer) of any incidents and/or official reports by 6pm Sunday (game day)

Communication

  • Pass information from the club onto the parent group as required

  • Ensure parents are aware of major club events eg. Annual Dinner Dance

  • Communicate sponsorship opportunities to parent group

 

Player Statistics

  • Keep goal and game tally for all players

  • Alert parents when their kids are approaching a milestone game (50/100/150)

  • Cross check with club statistician that all player stats are correct

 

After Match

  • Organise team to host Aftermatch function as rostered by the club

  • Spruik Aftermatch to parent group regularly

Other

  • Pigeon Holes – located in the trainers room at Columbia, one per team – are used by the club to distribute documents and materials to you (medals, trophies, photo envelopes etc) as well as by you to submit your match day paperwork.
